Melaleuca is positioned to grow even more rapidly in upcoming years. To help keep up with this growth we are looking for an outstanding Formulation Supervisor to be part of our Formulation team.

Overview

Plans and supervises formulation operations including processing, weigh out, warehouse and sanitation. Responsible for training and supervision of shift employees. Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises staff of 5-10 Full-Time Employees by performing such duties as recommending employment status (i.e. hiring, terminating, promotions, warnings, rewards and recognition, etc.), interviewing, counseling, training, scheduling, resolving conflicts, coordinating with other departments, conducting employee meetings, recommending wage increases, etc.
  • Schedules and plans daily activities for weigh out and processing.
  • Performs all duties of immediate supervisor including discipline, counseling, coaching, rewards & recognition, etc.
  • Coordinates with other departments to ensure that formulation operations run smoothly and demands of other departments are met.
  • Investigates and works to resolve reworks, inventory inaccuracies, personnel conflicts, and other issues.
  • Ensures that all employees receive all necessary and required training including SOP, GMP, and safety training and forklift certification where applicable.
  • Ensures that all SOPs, GMPs and other formulation policies and procedures are followed.
  • Reviews and assists Formulation Manager in the creation of written processing procedures.
  • Coordinates with contractors for recycling drums and other materials, disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, and the ordering of supplies required for formulation operations.
  • Writes justifications for rewards & recognition, equipment repairs, replacements and additions, and other justifications as needed.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform duties of Processors, Sanitation Technicians and Forklift Operators as needed.
  • Developing and writing SOPs, processing procedures, logs, spreadsheets, policies and other documents related to formulation operations.
  • Enforces safety policies and procedures and takes necessary actions to ensure that they are followed.
  • Completes reviews and evaluations of employees.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent
  • Knowledge of current GMP’s and FDA Regulations concerning cosmetic and drug products, foods, and supplements
  • Demonstrates ability to lead, teach, motivate and train employees in a 1-on-1 setting as well as a large group
  • Knowledge of applicable chemicals, their appearance and how to safely handle and blend them
  • Demonstrates mechanical ability and aptitude to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot complex mechanical equipment
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Proficient computer skills including software programs such as word processing, excel, access database, inventory tracking software, etc.
  • Certified forklift operator
  • Ability to analyze problems and create solutions
  • Ability to work independently and professionally to coordinate with departments and complete projects
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information including processing procedures, personnel files, etc.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced stressful environment
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Excellent math skills are required
