    Overview

    Processors weigh out and processes bulk product in accordance with all applicable SOPs, regulations and procedures.

    Responsibilities

    Essential

    • Weighs ingredients to work orders to +/- 1% accuracy
    • Accounts for and adjusts inventory to maintain accuracy
    • Processes bulks in accordance with SOPs and written procedures
    • Cleans and sanitizes weigh out and processing equipment as needed following all SOPs and procedures
    • Operates a forklift ensuring all safety procedures are followed at all times.
    • Uses JDE inventory tracking system and handheld scanners to look up, issues, transfers and adjust inventory
    • Fills out work orders and all logs in accordance with SOPs, GMPs and other procedures.
    • Identifies and addresses issues related to raw materials and processing bulk.
    • Takes ownership of batch weighing, processing and transferring to ensure quality is maintained.
    • Transfers bulk to designated holding vessels.
    • Tests bulk (i.e. pH , viscosity, etc) to ensure that it meets specifications.
    • Actively participates in all safety trainings and is involved in maintaining a safe work environment
    • Follows all safety procedures, including wearing PPE, identifying and removing potential hazards and having a proactive safety attitude.
    • Communicates effectively and professionally with employees within the department as well as supporting departments.
    • Understands and follows all applicable SOPs and other formulation procedures.
    • Maintains a neat, clean and orderly work area.

    Additional

    • Performs disposals of expired ingredients, returned bulk and other materials in accordance with all Federal, State and Local regulations.
    • Works as instructed by Formulation Manager/Coordinator/ Supervisor
    • Performs duties of other positions in the work area as needed or other tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • Ability to certify as a Melaleuca forklift operator.
    • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work under stress.
    • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
    • Good math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, etc.)
    • Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy.
    • Demonstrated mechanical ability and aptitude to operate complex mechanical equipment.
    • Ability to work in varying work conditions including a hot and humid enviroment.
    • Ability to work in tight spaces including under and around holding tanks and processors.
    • Ability to move 400-600 lb. drums utilizing appropriate equipment.
    • Knowledge of current GMP’s and FDA Regulations concerning cosmetic and drug products.
    • Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy.

    Additional

    • One (1) or more years experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent is preferred.
    • Chemistry education or experience is preferred.
    • Knowledge of applicable chemicals, their appearance and how to safely handle and blend them.
    • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
    • 2 years prior forklift experience or equivalent is preferred.
