    Provides direction and manages the overall operations of the Food Service food preparation staff.  Takes direction from Executive Chef.  Also prepares food at all levels including all catering level food preparation.

    • Demonstrates knowledge and leadership capability of the Executive Chef position and performs that position when the Executive Chef is not available.
    • Assists Executive Chef with leadership of all catering functions including performing all aspects of catering when Executive Chef is otherwise engaged or not available.
    • Take full responsibility of Leaf and Drop during designated shifts. When Restaurant Supervisor is on premise, shares supervision duties with him/her.
    • Develops and prepares all aspects of food for hot bar on a weekly basis.
    • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills enabling customers to have an exceptional Melaleuca dining experience, especially for Hot Bar and catering events.
    • Ability to lead, train and develop other employees.
    • Understands and manages all aspects of food costs associated with all food operations.
    • Create recipes and provide creative leadership in all areas of food preparation with emphasis on Hot Bar and Catering.
    • Provides direction and direct supervision to food service team members using direction from Executive Chef.
    • Provides exceptional customer and associate relations/service.
    • Coaches all team members on how to provide exceptional customer service to their customers.
    • Ensures compliance within the food industry including OSHA, health codes and other safety regulations.
    • Monitors and evaluates the food quality to the customers through such as avenues as comment cards, suggestions, etc.
    • Solicits feedback on the quality, quantity, taste and all other areas of food directly from Leaf and Drop customers.
    • Assists Executive Chef with food preparation, overall presentation and food serving.
    • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
    • Adheres to compliance within the food industry, OSHA, and health codes.
    • Assists Chef with customer sensitivities and accommodation of dietary needs.


    • Exceptional verbal communication skills.
    • Written communication skills as required for the position.
    • Computer skills in appropriate areas.
    • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job including standing, bending, pulling, stretching and lifting of at least 50- 75 pounds for the duration of any and all shifts.
    • Visually read recipes, orders, product labels etc.
    • Ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy.
    • Exceptional customer service skills.
    • Ability to organize tasks for daily, weekly and monthly schedules. .
    • Ability to work every position in the kitchen and to teach kitchen skills.
    • Ability to do inventory control for all aspects of kitchen operations.
    • Ability to plan, order and prepare all menu items.
    • One or more year’s previous experience in Chef duties AND as a supervisor/manager within a demanding food service environment.
    • Ability to work independently and professionally.
    • Ability to analyze problems and create solutions at a manager level.
