    IT Functional Manager - BI & Data

    This position plays a critical role in the global organization by leading  the teams that oversee our Business Intelligence, Datawarehousing systems.  This team plays an  integral part in the administration, design and support of these critical business systems.  Additionally this role will interface with a variety of company departments such as Marketing, Sales, Forecasting & Planning, Cost and Financial Accounting to compile data and analyze the financial viability of various new products, promotions, and initiatives.

    To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have the ability to:

    • Manage, hire and develop a team of high performing engineers, analysts and DBA's that oversee all of Melaleuca's global BI and DW initiatives and all associated DBA tasks.
    • Partner with business users and PMO to review roadmaps and establish priorities
    • Manage scope of iterations and work with business and PMO when adjustments are made
    • Determine capacity and track velocity for each iteration
    • Provide PMO and management with status updates and agreed upon metrics
    • Proactively manage the task backlog and ensure the team stays within quality guidelines
    • Identify potential improvements and sponsor maintenance projects as appropriate
    • Evaluate team skills and assign responsibilities accordingly
    • Develop training plans and schedule training for team members
    • Define career paths and mentor individual team members on career path options
    • Create and review objectives for individual team members and for the overall team
    • Create individual performance development plans and regularly review with each team member
    • Act as an individual advocate and work to remove roadblocks
    • Monitor development/test environments and recommend improvements as needed
    • Institute team standards and ensure team follows the standards
    • Ensure that work is reviewed and peer tested
    • Work with Architects to ensure designs adhere to the reference architecture
    • Continually evaluate processes and define performance improvements
    • Assign coverage for deployments and other critical events as needed
    • Establish trouble reporting and team escalation processes
    • Ensure SLAs are met and call-out support is available as required
    • Work closely with business analysts to ensure data is understood and available for analysis
    • Drive self-serve and enable data visualization platforms
    • Minimum 5 years in IT with management or team lead experience
    • BS degree in computer science or related field

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior experience managing business intelligence and or DW/DBA teams
    • Technical expertise in business intelligence field, preferably with Microsoft BI stack (SSIS &SSRS)
    • Good understanding of architecture, ETL and project management
    • Experience making hiring decisions and developing performance improvement plans
