    Overview

    The Senior Designer II has a minimum of 10 years of work experience, meets the qualifications of Senior Designer, and has additional specialized skills in areas such as branding, packaging, print production, publication design, or project management. The Senior Designer II must show at least a senior level of competency in the areas of branding, packaging, typography and layout, and an advanced understanding of photo selection and editing. Additionally, the Senior Designer should demonstrate advanced understanding of file building and printing techniques and assist in training coworkers who are still developing their expertise in those areas. A Senior Designer should be proactive in identifying areas of improvement in all of his or her areas
    of responsibility. Responsible for the effective, aesthetic, and timely concept, design, and production of Melaleuca’s packaging, marketing materials, and graphics.

     

     

    Responsibilities

     

      • Collaborates with copywriters, designers, and photographers to develop packaging, ads, articles, catalogs, event graphics, digital media, and other projects as needed.
      • Works closely with internal clients such as sales personnel, brand management, and marketing.
      • Presents work to upper management, Associate Creative Director, Creative Director, as well as marketing and sales teams.
      • Ability to produce work in compliance with existing brand guidelines, and able to guide others with that expertise.
      • Ability to develop new brand identities and create brand guidelines to steer future projects.
      • Creates and specifies art for print or electronic publication.
      • Advanced understanding of prepress, and printing processes, and ability to produce print-ready files.
      • Supervises printing with press checks as necessary.
      • Proven understanding of principles of marketing and customer response.
      • Uses tools and technology to maximize efficiency and effectiveness in the design process.
      • Be a lifelong learner, regularly seeking knowledge, feedback, and coaching.
      • Deep understanding of principles of marketing and customer response.

      • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
      • Work overtime as needed.

     

    Qualifications

    Essential

    •  

      • Ten to fourteen years of experience in a fast-paced creative environment as a professional designer, demonstrating strengths in branding, marketing, packaging, and publishing.
      • Two or four-year degree in Design, Commercial Art, or equivalent.
      • In depth understanding of design, print, paper, and Internet specifications.
      • Strong design portfolio that exhibits not only a passion for high-quality graphic design, but also an understanding of marketing and branding communications.
      • Portfolio work that demonstrates critical thinking skills, both creatively, and strategically.
      • Competency and experience with the Mac OS and Adobe Creative Suite.
      • Ability to analyze problems and create solutions.
      • Ability to work under stress and manage several projects at once.
      • Detailed work and organizational skills, including managing multifaceted projects.
      • Ability to work professionally on his/her own and with teams.
      • Written and verbal communication skills.
      • Ability to type, use mouse, and other necessary computer equipment.
      • Visually read documents, computer screens, training materials, etc.
      • Ability to complete essential duties with efficiency and accuracy.
