One of our most pressing needs is for a talented leader and scientist to supervise our analytical lab in our R&D Center of Excellence.  


    Duties and Responsibilities May Include

    • Mentor direct reports – responsible for their training, safety, reviews, and goal setting as well as day-to-day function
    • Oversee testing for raw materials, bulk materials, finished goods and stability samples of over-the-counter drugs and nutritional supplements.
    • Direct maintenance, authoring and review of Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Maintains the compliance of records, instruments, training materials, personnel and testing procedures according to FDA, USP, ICH and OSHA regulations for drugs, supplements and/or foods.  
    • Responsible for directing authoring, completion and reporting of method validation activities.
    • Research, justify, and propose the purchase of new equipment to support Melaleuca’s growing analytical needs as well as qualify, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain analytical equipment and associated peripherals, detectors, and instrument control/data collection equipment.
    • Maintain accurate and current documentation of data and results, method validations, instrument qualifications, and equipment preventative maintenance and repairs
    • Investigate out-of-specification QC results to determine corrective and preventative actions and support method validation investigations as needed
    • Perform routine QC testing when required
    • Review laboratory notebooks and associated paperwork to ensure accuracy and completeness
    • Ensure that all chemicals and other laboratory materials are available in the laboratory prior to initiating testing
    • Support method development and validation
    • Build and strengthen team unity and moral
    • Performs other duties as assigned or needed



    Minimum Qualifications

    • 2+ Years of supervisory experience
    • Minimum of a BA/BS in chemistry with 10+ years experience or M.S. Degree in Chemistry with 5-10 years experience in an FDA regulated environment
    • A working knowledge of cGMP, USP/NF, FDA and ICH food, supplement and drug regulations as well as experience with method development and validation
    • Excellent knowledge of the use and maintenance of GC, HPLC, FT-IR, ICP-MS, Auto-Titration, UV-VIS and Ion Chromatography.
    • Experience performing routine testing for samples including raw materials, stability, etc) and non-routine samples.
    • Computer word processing, spreadsheet, and database skills (Microsoft- Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to organize and coordinate multiple method development/validation projects
