To help keep up with this growth we are looking for an outstanding Security Technician to join our Marketing Services Team.


    The Home Security Technician is primarily responsible for the shipping of home security product orders, the activation of new customer accounts, and troubleshooting and technical assistance of existing systems.  The Technician will work on the phone directly with customers to set up equipment, test the equipment, and instruct the customer on how to use the system.   


    • Process new customer equipment orders, program the necessary equipment, and ship the completed order to customers.
    • Follow through with new customer accounts to assist with system setup by the customer or professional installer.
    • Assist in the activation and testing of new accounts in a timely manner.
    • Instruct the customer on daily use, regular maintenance, false alarm prevention, and troubleshooting techniques.
    • Assist in remote troubleshooting and system repairs for existing customers.
    • Download panels for programming updates or customer requests as needed.
    • Provide telephone support for general customer concerns and questions.
    • Track and report activities daily through the scorecard statistics reporting system.
    • Work with fellow team members in a coordinated effort to accomplish department goals.


    • Home Security installation experience is highly recommended.
    • Thorough knowledge of company policies, procedures, and the company marketing plan.
    • 10 key by touch.
    • 45 wpm typing.
    • Detailed work and organizational skills.
    • Ability to analyze problems and create solutions.
    • Ability to work independently and professionally.
    • Ability to work independently and follow through on projects.
    • Ability to prioritize and organize
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive areas.
    • Written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work under stress.
    • Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Word and other office software.
    • Sit with intermittent walking.
    • Manual dexterity for such duties as assembling systems, programming, boxing, and shipping customer orders.
    • Communicate (hearing &speech) with individuals in person and by phone in a tactful and courteous manner.
    • Visually read reports, computer screen, etc.
    • Good math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
    • Strong customer relation skills for conflict situations.
    • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
    • Associates Degree preferred.
    • Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy.
