Overview

Supervises the plant Quality Control Inspectional programs. Responsible for assurance of plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) compliance, technician/coordinator training, and the QC data coordination for that plant.

Responsibilities

  • Implements, trains, and performs all Inspectional programs elements, as defined by the QC Inspectional Program.
  • Implements, trains, and performs all elements of current sampling plans and schedules.
  • Assists in the coordination of internal audits of plant for compliance to GMP laws.
  • Assists QC management during FDA, and other regulatory agency, inspections/audits.
  • Develops documentation and interacts with document control for the plant QA procedures.
  • Trains for and performs testing of plant bulk batches for conformance to specifications.
  • Trains for and performs the testing of ingredients for conformance to specifications.
  • Coordinates the sample/ingredient retain program.
  • Works with QC management, purchasing, and QA auditors to assure conformance to specifications of incoming labels, components, ingredients, and outside-manufactured products.
  • Coordinates the maintenance of inspectional equipment and instruments in conformance to manufacturer's recommendations and GMP guidelines.
  • Interacts with Quality Control and plant operations associates to assure GMP awareness and compliance.

Additional

  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
  • Destruction of outdated documents and retain samples according to guidelines.

Supervision of Others

  • Provides direct supervision to QA coordinators and technicians by performing such duties as determining employment status (i.e. hiring, terminating, promotions, issuing warnings, etc.), interviewing applicants, counseling, training, scheduling, resolving conflicts, coordinating with other departments, conducting employee meetings, recommending wage increases, etc.

Minimum Qualifications Essential

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years industry Quality Assurance experience including 2+ years supervising others <OR> 10+ years of industry Quality Assurance experience, including 5 years supervising others.
  • A working knowledge of Federal Regulations regarding the manufacturing and distribution of drug products.
  • Experience in component and finished product inspection and/or laboratory testing.
  • Excellent verbal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate projects.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to perform duties with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Data analysis skills.
  • Computer word processing, and spreadsheet skills
